Rules and Procedures
1. Students will abide by all rules and procedures issued in the school and parish handbook.
2. Students have two minutes to get to class or they are considered tardy. Students need to have all of their materials and be in proper uniform. If a student is late, lacking materials, or out of uniform, students will be given a warning. If this becomes habitual, the student will be written up. When students enter, they need to begin the bell work question on the board immediately.
3. Students will remain in desks and raise their hands to be acknowledged. Appropriate language needs to be used in the classroom. Students may leave the classroom for emergencies only. Absolutely no cell phones, food, drink, or gum.
4. If a student is absent, they must get a blue slip from the office to be admitted back to class. The student is responsible for getting and making up the work. Students have three school days to make up work.
5. Students shall remain in their seats until after the bell rings and the teacher dismisses them.

“Assessment is not a reward and punishment system! Grades are given so that a student will have a clear indication of progress in the content of this course.”
Students will be assessed based on participation, homework, quizzes, tests, and projects. Students will be given opportunities for bonus points. The nine-week exam will count as 25% of the grade.

Loose leaf
Keep bell work, class work, and homework clearly labeled in your binder.
Proper paper heading for everything you turn in must include your name and assigned class color.
Bonus opportunities, test dates, and project due dates will be announced in class, posted in the classroom, and posted on the BCMS website. Also on the website will be copies of projects and exam study guides.
Students will be given an assignment tracker, so they can record grades, and know their class average is in geography.
Do not throw away notes. Students will need notes to study for quarterly exams.
No late projects will be accepted, except for excused absences,

Museum Bonus
Students can earn bonus points by visiting local museums and facilities. For bonus credit, students can turn in their admission ticket or a brochure and write a paragraph about the exhibit or museum.
